About this podcast
Re:Adapted is about why and how we retell stories over and over. Each season, I’ll tackle a different work and the ways in which it’s been reiterated in film and other media. I’m starting with Phantom of the Opera, but in future I hope to tackle stories like: Arthurian legend, Beauty and the Beast, A Christmas Carol, The Haunting of Hill House, I Am Legend, Jane Austen’s ouvre, Jane Eyre, Les Miserables, Robin Hood, Sherlock Holmes, Treasure Island, and Dracula, just to name a few. Along the way we’ll look at how each version was created, and what that creation says about the story and the time in which it was made.
About me
I suppose this all started when I was 9 and discovered Sherlock Holmes for the first time. And then discovered that there was no end to the Holmeses in existence. I had to know them all, and then I had to know why. I wrote my undergrad thesis about this, and between then and now I’ve built a career on public speaking, informal education, theater production/acting, and being obsessed. Join me!
